Metal Cutting
This Pennsylvania manufacturer uses abrasive cutoff saws in the production of large, super alloy rings for the gas turbine industry. To eliminate the substantial volume of metal dust generated by this operation, the company found it was spending $15,000 per year to replace and maintain cartridge filters on their shop dust collector system. Seeking to alleviate this high expense, they contacted Aget, who recommended a Dustkop Pull-Through Cyclone Separator powered by a 5 HP Exhauster, and combined with an Aget FT-40 after filter with 99.97% auxiliary HEPA filtration. This system eliminated the dust problem, and the company reported spending less than $400 in maintenance during its first year of operation. They have since installed a second Dustkop system to service an additional abrasive saw.
Plastics/Powder Bulk
Mixing dry powder ingredients to formulate plastic resins for the injection molding industry creates substantial volumes of fine dust which must be captured and removed to maintain an acceptable level of air quality within the plant. In this application, Aget installed a 30 HP Filterkop fabric filter baghouse located outside the plant, with a low air-to-cloth ratio to ensure filtration efficiency. The intermittent shaker-type cleaning system automatically activates between shifts to clean the baghouse filters, eliminating the need for outdoor compressed air otherwise required for pulse jet type cleaning units. Cleaned air can be recycled back into the plant to conserve heat energy and balance air pressure. Aget also supplied all collection hoods for blenders, duct systems, and exhausters.

Parts Cleaning
Oil mists and water droplets generated by the high temperatures and pressures developed within aqueous parts cleaning washers are efficiently removed by this Mistkop VCM-2U mist collector. Small and compact in size, the Mistkop unit is easily installed on many different styles of parts washers. They have proved to be highly effective in eliminating heavy mists from cleaning and degreasing processes - returning cleaned air back to the workplace. They also eliminate the need for costly roof openings which would otherwise be required to vent this exhaust. In the picture shown, the Mistkop is installed on a Grapar U-Flow parts washer system, used in conjunction with work cell manufacturing modules.
Machining
Removing mists and smoke generated by cutting oils or synthetic coolants used in high speed machining operations can be accomplished efficiently and at low cost with an Aget Mistkop oil mist collector. In the photo shown, a Mistkop model VCM-2U is mounted topside on an Okuma Cadet C.N.C. lathe used by an automotive parts supplier to machine metal parts. Mist is captured at the source and condensed in the compressed fiberglass filter where it is recycled to the sump of the machine. Long lasting collector filters are non-rotating, to eliminate imbalance and vibration problems, while reducing horsepower requirements. Models are available in various CFM capacities for a number of cutting, wet grinding and machining operations.
Woodworking
This large woodworking shop produces laminated counter tops for the furniture and cabinet industries. The 2-stage Aget dust collection system is rated at 7,000 CFM, and services 9 woodworking machines simultaneously, including radial arm saws, panel saws, shaper, edge bander, floor sweeps and table saws. The 30 HP model 90N70 cyclone dust collector for woodworking removes more than 95% of the dust and chips from the airstream prior to its entering the second stage Filterkop afterfilter, which removes remaining "fines" and sub-micron particles. Cleaned air is circulated back into the plant. The Filterkop provides 700 sq. ft. of filter area and is equipped with a 1/2 HP motorized shaker unit for periodic cleaning of the filter tubes.
Grinding/Polishing
This manufacturer of brass door hardware utilizes Aget dust collectors to eliminate dust generated in their grinding, buffing, and polishing operations. In the application shown, 2-stage Dustkop model 20C31-D1 is being used at a two wheel pedestal-type buffing and polishing machine. Custom designed hoods, an integral part of the Dustkop system, capture the dust particles at the source, and a push-through blower forces the contaminated air into the cyclone, which in turn vents to a second stage filter bag. Clean air is returned to the plant via the fabric filter media. The larger left side hood services a cloth wheel used to polish stainless and bright brass surfaces. The smaller right side hood services the wheel for buffing raw material. Collected dust drops into a drum at the base of the cyclone.
