DUSKTOPCyclone Dust Collectors

Cyclone: Basic Dust Collection

What is a cyclone dust collector?

A cyclone dust collector extracts coarse debris, particles, and dust from an exhaust air stream. They are commonly used as the first stage in multiple stage dust collection systems, or as a product separator in air conveying systems.

Centrifugal force applied to the air stream by the cone shaped design results in the separation of larger particulate, allowing gravity to deposit it into a dust storage container placed beneath the cyclone.

Cyclone Dust Collector: Benefits

What are the benefits of a cyclone dust collector?

A cyclone dust collector separates and disposes of nearly all large particles from the exhaust before the air stream is sent through a second-stage filter or returned to the environment.

Cyclone collectors are low in cost, require little or no maintenance, and effectively collect most particles over 10 microns in size, allowing less material to be sent to a second stage collector.

In a pull-through cyclone collector design, the large particles are separated out before the fan wheel, allowing AGET to design for maximum airflow without worrying about the fan’s ability to withstand the impact and abrasion of debris.

The cyclone separator is the most efficient dust collector for its cost.

Choosing the Right Cyclone Separator

AGET manufactures a complete line of cyclones, so the right sized collector can be chosen for different air handling performance needs.

Larger cyclone models provide greater airflow volume and the ability to service multiple dust producing processes simultaneously. By utilizing AGET’s cyclone design and equipment, a cyclone dust collector can handle a large amount of dust without sacrificing performance.

AGET manufactures both pull-through and push-through cyclone collectors.

SN Series Pull-Through Dust Collectors

The AGET Pull-Through Cyclone Dust Collector incorporates design simplicity with industrial quality materials to provide years of dependable, low maintenance dust collection. Units are completely weather-proofed for indoor or outdoor installation.

How the SN Series Cyclone Works

Contaminated air is drawn into the cyclone where the centrifugal action forcibly pulls dust from the airstream, dropping collected particulate into the dust storage container. Cleaned air is discharged through the side outlet transition. The spark-resistant, aluminum fan is located on the “clean air” side of the cyclone, protecting the fan wheel from abrasion.
